Write a detailed note on r-DNA technology

  • It is a technique which changes the phenotype of an organism(host)  when a genetically altered vector is introduced & integrated into the genome of the organisms.
  • This process involves introducing a foreign piece of DNA into the genome, which contains our gene of interest.
  • this gene which is introduced, is the recombinant gene & the technique is called  as the Recombinant DNA technology.
  • R-DNA technology identifies with the utilization of 3 primary instruments
    • Enzyme
    • vectors
    • Host microorganisms

Process:

  • r-DNA technology involves the selection of the desired gene for administration into the host followed by a selection of the host followed by a selection of the perfect vector with which the gene has to be integrated & r-DNA formed.

Flowchart

1. Process of r-DNA technology: Include the choice of the ideal gene for organisation into the host followed by a determination of the ideal vector with which the gene must be coordinated & r-DNA framed, it must be kept up in the host & conveyed formed to the offspring.

2. Isolation of DNA Segregation of DNA isn't easy/ simple errand. Confinement of DNA is an enzymatically controlled procedure where the plant or creature cell are treated with specific enzyme. eg- cellulose.

3. Fragmentation of DNA  The confined and cleansed DNA is treated with restriction endonuclear enzyme which cut the DNA into section.

4. Amplification of Gene of interest PCR is a procedure to intensify the gene once the best possible gene of intrigue has been cut utilizing the restriction enzyme this will duplicates the gene.

5. Insertion of r-DNA Addition of the ideal r-DNA into the host life form. this effectively changed cells or the life forms convey forward the recombinant gene to the offspring's.
